DSF Oktoberfest Competition

Firstly, congrats on bagging yourself a DSF Oktoberfest 2023 ticket! You are one of the lucky data enthusiasts to have received an initial ticket from the ballot.

This year, DSF have created a competition for our community members to win some DSF goodies, and the winner will be drawn live at our event!

We are simply asking you to share a post on LinkedIn about DSF Oktoberfest! For an extra entry into the draw, you can also add the DSF Oktoberfest banner to your LinkedIn profile.

The last day to enter this competition is Friday 6th October 2023. Any entries made past this date will not be entered in to the draw. 

The winner of the competition will be announced at 5.00pm in CTRL room at Oktoberfest on Saturday October 14th 2023. If you are not present to accept the prize, this will then go to the runner up.

Terms and Conditions: Data Science Festival Oktoberfest Media Post Competition (UK Only – Age Restriction: 18+)

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before participating in the social media post competition (“Competition”). By entering the Competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and all decisions made by the organiser, which are final and binding.

Organiser: The Competition is organised by Data Science Festival (“Organiser”).
Eligibility: The Competition is open to individuals who meet the following criteria: a. Entrants must be residents of the United Kingdom. b. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. c. Employees, directors, officers, and agents of the Organiser, and their immediate family members and household members, are not eligible to participate.

Entry Period: The Competition entry period begins at 9AM on September 1st and ends at 5PM on October 6th BST. Entries received before or after the Entry Period will not be considered.

Entry Requirements: a. To enter, participants must create an original social media post (e.g., photo, video, or text) related to the competition theme as specified by the Organiser. Participants must be based in the UK and be over 18 years old. Must follow Data Science Festival on LinkedIn and Share a post on LinkedIn. Your post must include: the link to the website page (https://bit.ly/3qtjVgY) the DSF Oktoberfest social image and the hashtag (#DSFoktoberfest). You must attend the DSF Oktoberfest festival to be eligible to win this prize.

Winner Selection and Notification: a. The winner(s) will be selected randomly by a panel of judges appointed by the Organiser. The winner(s) will be notified on the day of the event. b. If the selected winner(s) fail to attend the winner announcement, the Organiser reserves the right to select an alternate winner(s).

Prizes: a. The prizes for the Competition will be specified by the Organiser and communicated to the winner(s). b. The prizes are non-transferable, and no cash alternative will be offered. c. The Organiser reserves the right to substitute the prize(s) with another(s) of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond their control make it necessary to do so.

Intellectual Property: a. By participating in the Competition, each participant grants the Organiser a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display the entry for promotional and marketing purposes. b. Participants warrant that they are the sole owners of the intellectual property rights to the entry and that their submission does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.

Publicity: By accepting the prize, the winner(s) agree(s) to participate in any publicity or promotional activities associated with the Competition and consent to the use of their name, image, and social media handle(s) for such purposes.

Data Protection: Personal information collected from participants will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Competition and will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and the Organiser’s Privacy Policy.

Limitation of Liability: The Organiser shall not be responsible for any losses, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising out of or in connection with the Competition or the acceptance, possession, or use.
