Building the AI city by Enrique Munoz de Cote

Smart cites operate under a more resource-efficient paradigm than regular cities do, and one of the major drivers of such a paradigm shift is AI: the technology that can interpret and make sense of vast amounts of data of all kinds (tabular, images and video, audio, text, time series, and the list continue). As AI and big data technologies are becoming ubiquitous, new advanced business models have emerged around smart cities, and consequently, urban practices are becoming highly responsive to a new form of data-driven urbanism. This talk will describe some use cases of computer vision AI technologies that are enabling this type of urbanism. However, the punch line of the talk is not about the examples provided, but rather about starting a conversation about the examples we are yet to discover.
