Cleo is on a mission to improve the world’s financial health. Using bank account data and a chat interface, Cleo coaches our users with humour, assists with salary advances, and sets budgets. Large language models (LLMs) such as GPT4 are powering a step change in production machine learning at Cleo, helping us make sense of short & messy snippets of text from the world of personal finance. We’ll show how LLMs offer wholesale replacement of a pipeline of classifiers and handwritten rules and cover considerations such as where we choose to host our own models vs using APIs.
