Hoang Tao is a PhD ABD with a dissertation focused on environmental justice and equity. He has done his +4 years of climate change effects fieldwork as lead researcher at CHART. His commitment to climate action led him to found an international tech startup, SISYPHUS. His diverse education consists of urban planning, architecture, GIS, disaster management and civil/construction/environmental engineering. He has studied, taught, worked, and lived domestically in LA, NYC, and NOLA; internationally in Italy, China, Taiwan, and his Peace Corps service in Mozambique as the director/founder of the Civil Engineering Program at UCM. Hoang is involved locally in New Orleans with Evacuteer as a spot captain, Water Collaborative as a board of directors, and Open Architecture as a community director.
