Become a volunteer

Yes! We welcome anyone to volunteer at DSF.

Volunteer applications for all 2026 events are now closed. If you’d like to volunteer at a future Data Science Festival event, you can join our Volunteer Waitlist and we’ll let you know when new opportunities become available.

Most of our volunteer opportunities are at our in person events in London. Volunteers typically complete either a morning or afternoon shift and receive a guaranteed ticket to attend the event, the opportunity to network with our team and fellow volunteers, exclusive DSF volunteer merchandise, and a certificate of appreciation.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who volunteers. Our events wouldn’t be possible without your support.

• Arrive on time for your scheduled volunteer shift.
• Wear the DSF Volunteer t-shirt provided.
• Follow instructions and treat your fellow volunteers, attendees, speakers, sponsors, and the DSF team with respect.
• Please give us at least four days’ notice if you are no longer able to attend your shift.
• Dress code: Smart casual. Please wear comfortable shoes, you’ll thank us!
• If you have any questions or ideas, please speak up. We value everyone’s input.
• Most importantly, have fun!

Here are some of the tasks you may help with on the day:

• Preparing and alphabetising attendee badges
• Setting up the registration desk
• Putting up venue signage and banners
• Organising swag bags and giveaway items
• Assisting with audience microphones during Q&A sessions
• Helping with room management and crowd flow
• Welcoming attendees and handing out badges and lanyards
• Supporting speakers, sponsors, and the DSF team throughout the day
• Assisting with lunch setup and distribution
• Helping pack down the event at the end of the day

Most of our in person events take place at CodeNode in London, near Moorgate Station. Details for individual events will be shared with confirmed volunteers.

Parking: If you’re travelling by car, NCP Finsbury Square offers convenient parking just a short walk from CodeNode. The venue also has a loading bay should you need to unload equipment. You can also use Parkopedia to find nearby parking options.

Tube and Train: The nearest stations are Moorgate and Liverpool Street. Moorgate is served by the Circle, Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City and Northern lines. Liverpool Street is served by the Circle, Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City and Central lines, as well as National Rail services. From Moorgate Station, exit onto Moorgate, turn right, then take the next right onto South Place. CodeNode is located at 10 South Place on the right-hand side. Liverpool Street Station is also only a short walk away.

Bicycle: There is a Santander Cycles docking station directly outside the venue on South Place.
