An accomplished data science leader with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing interdisciplinary teams both on-site and remote. A physicist by trade with a deep first-hand domain knowledge of the publishing industry. Joined the Guardian’s Data & Insight group in 2019 with a goal of establishing a new Data Science team, which has since become the second largest team within the analytics department.

Previously worked at the BBC where in 2007 received a special Best Producer Award. In 2015, made a career transition to data science. Teaches different modules including AI ethics at LSE’s annual AI Academy for small newsrooms. Expertise in data science spans across Natural Language Processing, recommender engines, audience segmentation, propensity modelling, A/B testing and more.
