Karen Jean-François is a Senior Analytics Manager, speaker, and creator and co-host of the Women in Data Podcast. She specialises in helping organisations move beyond vague requests and identify the problems they are really trying to solve. By bringing together analytical expertise, product thinking, and a systems perspective, she helps teams turn ambiguity into clear questions, meaningful analysis, and decisions that drive action.
Her passion for helping others navigate complexity extends beyond the workplace. After completing a Master’s in Applied Statistics, Karen naturally stepped into a career in data—but quickly realised that understanding data and understanding what a career in data looked like were two very different things. As one of the few women in her team, she often struggled to see a version of a successful data career that felt like it could be her own.
Rather than leaving the profession, she started having conversations with women whose careers intrigued her. Their honesty, generosity, and willingness to share the twists and turns of their journeys helped Karen realise there was no single definition of success in data—and no single way to belong.
That experience inspired her to create the Women in Data Podcast. Through more than 160 episodes and a community of over 10,000 listeners, Karen and her co-host share candid career conversations, practical advice, and inspiring stories from data leaders and industry experts. Their mission is simple: to help people build careers that are both successful and authentically their own.
