Rick joined King in 2014 after 16 years in academia, has worked in most of the data science roles across the company – from reporting to analytics to marketing tech to advertising – and these days focuses on encouraging best practice for data science by building, teaching and promoting platforms and tooling. He has a BSc in Maths and Computer Science from Imperial, a PhD in Computer Science with Astrophysics from Kent, and spent five years as a post-doctoral researcher in the field of visual analytics. He’s a passionate advocate for good data visualisation, and hates writing about himself in the third person.
